The Effect of University Students’ Adult Attachment on the Satisfaction of Romantic Relationship : Mediating Effect of the Emotional Dysregulation

|
This study examined the mediation effect of emotional dysregulation on the relationship between adult attachment and satisfaction of romantic relationship. The survey was completed by a total of 205 university students in Busan. The results of this study were as follows. First, there was a significantly positive correlation between adult attachment and emotional dysregulation and a significantly negative correlation between adult attachment and satisfaction of romantic relationship. Second, the relationship of adult attachment (attachment avoidance) and satisfaction of romantic relationship was partially mediated by emotional dysregulation but the relationship of adult attachment (attachment anxiety) and satisfaction of romantic relationship was not mediated by emotional dysregulation. The implications of the study were discussed based on the results, and the necessity of further study was suggested.
